Turn Background into a Layer
When you open an image (or a photo) in Photoshop it is important that you turn it into a Layer first before doing anything on it. Firstly, you cannot do a lot of things on it if it is not a Layer.
Whenever you open a photo in Photoshop, you’ll notice that the photo you have just opened is labeled as Background.
Even you want to use it really as a background, it is recommended to turn it into a Layer. So that you will have a full control on it.
To make it a layer, just double-click it.
Click OK.
Now you'll see that it has turned into a Layer.
There are many tools that are deactivated (tools that you cannot use) if it remains a Background.
You will find out of the enormous advantage of turning it into a Layer as you continue learning Photoshop.
If you have question or need clarification, please write it down in the comments space. Thank you.
Your suggestions are welcome as well. Kung may suhestyon ka ok din.
